{"id":1035,"date":"2017-04-21T15:17:03","date_gmt":"2017-04-21T15:17:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/junglefreedomfighters.com\/?p=1035"},"modified":"2017-04-21T15:17:03","modified_gmt":"2017-04-21T15:17:03","slug":"fixing-the-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/junglefreedomfighters.com\/?p=1035","title":{"rendered":"Fixing the road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We live on an unadopted road. \u00a0Over the past few years it&#8217;s been getting more and more bumpy. \u00a0For the past couple of months I&#8217;ve been regularly grounding my car when coming in to park so I finally decided\u00a0to fix it.<\/p>\n<p>I got 4*1000kg bags of MOT Type 1 delivered<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/junglefreedomfighters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/IMG_20170413_165424.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1036\" src=\"https:\/\/junglefreedomfighters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/IMG_20170413_165424.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"4032\" height=\"3024\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and hired a roller. \u00a0I was going to use a whacker plate but where&#8217;s the fun in that?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/junglefreedomfighters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/IMG_20170413_194704.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1037\" src=\"https:\/\/junglefreedomfighters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/IMG_20170413_194704.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>it was then a family effort to get to stoney sandy mix out of the bags and into the right places.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/junglefreedomfighters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/IMG_20170418_100341.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1038\" src=\"https:\/\/junglefreedomfighters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/IMG_20170418_100341.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It doesn&#8217;t look too great and it isn&#8217;t perfectly flat but my car no longer bottoms out when I park it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/junglefreedomfighters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/IMG_20170418_100353.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1039\" src=\"https:\/\/junglefreedomfighters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/IMG_20170418_100353.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lessons learned:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The MOT Type 1 tends not to be mixed too well which doesn&#8217;t set properly. \u00a0Mix it in the barrow before dumping it in place.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s bloody hard work getting a tonne of stones out of a bag. \u00a0Use a machine to do it next time.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure your supplier also has MOT Type 2 which you can order a few tonnes of to give it a nice smooth finish.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We live on an unadopted road. \u00a0Over the past few years it&#8217;s been getting more and more bumpy. \u00a0For the past couple of months I&#8217;ve been regularly grounding my car when coming in to park so I finally decided\u00a0to fix it.
